'Sarigan' are being performed during Bratachari training
Gurusaday Dutt reassembled all available Bengali traditional folk songs from all parts of Bengal province and made some addition and alteration with lyrics and compositions, but sincerely he remained the original theme and mood of those songs. 'Sarigan' was a popular folk medium of pre-colonial period.among the 'Majhi' community who used to sail boats around riverine Bengal. With a proper lyrics and composition Gurusaday incorporated 'Sarigan' into Bratachari Movement. The famous 'Sarigan' often performed by Bratacharians is "kaiye Dhan Khailo Re".
In the same way he attached  Bratachari with 'Kirtan','Jhumur','Baul','Bhatiyali','Bhawaiya,,'Dhali' etc. Actually GuruSaday Dutt's motive was to archieve every collectable folk formats. "Holo matite chander uday ke dekhobi ay" is a famous bawl song written by him. He thought with that colonial culture invasion and domination by the Britishersmay destroy this rich heritage of our motherland. So, he never hesitate to take into these songs and dance forms. The main objective of choosing whether it is song or dance  was to simultaneously execute both physical exercise and spiritual messages of freedom struggle.
Enormous number of  Folk songs not oly collaborated into Bratachari Movement, rather Gurusaaday Dutt had written plenty of folk songs of that particular format, his research work was actually profuse in this sector. we may see some influence of 'Jhumur' in a particular song named 'Karbo Mora Chas'. This is just one example there are plenty of examples contains in 'Bratachari sakha', the fundamental book written by Gurusaday Dutt to illustrate the pros and cons of 'Bratachari'
Another song 'Kritye Nritye Purno karo re' was largely influenced by Bhatiali song.
